Jornadas Nova Música - Composition
Workshop for Chamber Ensemble
The
Jornadas
Nova Música festival opens its call for scores, to be performed
in its next edition in December. An ensemble composed by several students,
conducted by Edwin Roxburgh, will rehearse and perform all works under
the composer's supervision.
Conditions follow:

Only Portuguese composition students (or recent graduates) are eligible
to apply.

There is no entry fee.

Every candidate is able to present a maximum of 2 unperformed pieces, with
no more than 10 minutes each.

The maximum instrumentation is: 2 fl/picc./g fl, 1ob, 2cl/bcl, 1bsn, 1asax,
1hrn, 1trp, 1trb, 2perc (vib, mar, 3bongos, 4timp, sdrum), 1pn, 1guit,
2vl, 1vla, 1vlc, 1cb and tape.

Up to 4 works will be selected for performance.

To one of the works will be issued an encouragement prize of 50.000 PTE.

Each applicant should send 5 copies of its score by post to the address
indicated below, identified by a pseudonym and with no information or sign
that might allow identification of the author.

All information about the composer's identity should be on a separate sealed
envelope, to be opened after the selection.

All selected composers should provide the necessary parts on time.

There will be no appeal after the jury's decision.
