4^as Jornadas Nova Música - Aveiro, Portugal

Jornadas Nova Música is a initiative of three young Portuguese composers carried out every year in the city of Aveiro, Portugal. One of its main concerns is to allow young people to open their minds to the new music and allow them to contact other young composers and instrumentalists in order to work and practice together.

This is attained through setting up workshops, Master Classes, recitals and conferences given by experienced composers, conductors, instrumentalists and musicologists, either national or from other countries, allowing a strong participation of young musicians leading to a great exchange of experiences and ideas, contacts with new forms of musical expression as well as some research on the music area.

This year, our attention goes to the Italian composer Salvatore Sciarrino. Among other activities dedicated to him, are works included in several concerts, a conference about his solo music with live performances by young musicians, as well as a Master Class. All activities are open to the public.
